This game is pretty much SFC as it should have been originally. There are a few new items to keep you interested (a new slant on "X" ships for those who know the board game, including Heavy Photons, Heavy Phasers etc, new capaigns, the chance to play pirates etc), but essentially it is the same game - no bad thing. The only problem I have with this (and stopping it gettting a 5-star award) is that the new items do not seem to have been tested properly. There are a number of bugs in the game in some of the new missions (the wreckage of the freigher scenario is the one of the most common), something that should have been easily trapped, as the underlying engine has not changed.... It seems as if this was rushed out to make as much money as possible before the game engine is too dated to use any more.

In summary, if you liked SFC2, you will like this. The new items add to the game, but there are too many annoying bugs (though they do not stop you from playing the game)for it to reach it's true potential

I first likes SFC2 alot, really nice battles and a whole bunch of nice tactical stuff todo : space stations, capturing other vesels, doing missions, buying ships, ammo, .....

Now the guys from Taldren are bringing us something fresh : Orion Pirates. This game is kinda like SFC2, not an addon, but totally stand-alone :D Really need for all of us who didnt bought SFC2 but are eager to play some tactical space combating.

Now in this new game there are 8 different Cartels (pirate sections) to play with : Orion, Kargoth, Camboro, Prime, Tiger Heart, Beast Raiders,Syndicate,Wyldefire

All 8 of them have different ships and other screenlayout (really need to see). Most of them are from the know races : Federation, Romulan, Klingon, ... only Lyran and Hydro are some of the less known.

The grafix of the game are neat. We can fly into dust clouds, Planets, Suns, Asteroids, Black Holes and Nebulas.

While flying with your ship from sector to sector : you can buy new stuff or just take a look at the mission board and choose the mission you wish to accomplish :) (and earn money ofcourse.

Just to be short, are your phasers and order your copy today :):D A kickass Game
