Bought this as a present for a Trekkie mad friend but it was too cool not to open and try for myself! Limited edition numbered tins mean you could be the envy of all your friends... everyone I know who's seen it wants one. Great gift for anyone you are struggling for ideas for this christmas as I'm not a huge Star Trek fan and I really enjoyed it. So easy to use and can literally plug it in and play. Also there is room to store more than just the film! Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is a fan of films and new technology.... do it soon before they all get snapped up!

I bought this product after hearing about it on the entertainment grapevine. I have always been a fan of USB technology and I have seen some USB's done for music before which I was very impressed with. When the package arrived I must admit to be quite excited, it came an awesome tin with its own UNIQUE identification number and it was presented very nicely. I was particularly impressed with the quality of USB itself, a real solid metal weighty piece of kit. The only downside would of been the weight and possible damage that it MIGHT of done to my laptop, but not to worry because they cleverly fitted a USB lead in box and I now use the lead for all my USB devices as this prevents me from damaging the USB port in the laptop. I have heard there is another film coming out on USB and after my experience with this one, I most certainly will be purchasing another. This is a real credit to a movie industry clogged with piracy..... Looking forward to the next one! Cam

This is an amazing product everyone I have shown it too wants one, even if there not a Trekkie! The actual USB is surprisingly heavy and looks really expensive. The film is great and it is easy to transfer to all sorts of devices, leaving your USB free for all your pictures and files. I love it!

What an excellent way to deliver a movie. I'm no techie on movies or on USBs but any way to get a movie then have a cool USB to use after is a cool idea to me.
This is a real collectable and my brothers eyes lit up when he got it. It's a really heavy and high quality USB that needs to be held to really be appreciated. A brilliant product.

I got this for Christmas, and i must admit it is a wonderful piece of kit. Very solidly built, and a great idea!

However, there are two things to note about it.
1) You need to have a DIVx account set up (easy enough to register) and have some software installed on a PC in order to authorise the movie to play for the first time. After that, you can play it anywhere i think (i had it running on a laptop and a PS3)

2) The packaging says it's Dolby Digital audio, but it was only encoded in stereo. I have confirmed this with the DIVx helpdesk.

So all in all a fantastic way to view the new star trek movie, but bear in mind if you have a home cinema setup that the film isn't in 5.1 like the DVD/BlueRay.

The product itself was good value as it is a limited edition. However I felt nearly £5 for postage was a bit steep as it was just sent in a plastic wrapper rather than some sort of bubble wrap to protect it as it is in a metal special edition case which could have been damaged. also there wasn't a shipping note / invoice which you normally get with an online purchase.

I bought this device almost purely because of it's beautiful design. Good thing too - not only was the film a nightmare to transfer, it was also pretty poor quality after I finally managed to get it to play. Then, just a few weeks after purchase, the device refused to be recognised by my computer (certainly not a computer fault - it's the device that failed). I still like the design and pleasingly-heavy feel of the solid metal, but it's now a classy paperweight rather than a functioning device. Beautiful though!
