If you expect to read a story based on 'far beyond the stars' like me you will be disappointed. The star trek parts of this book are flimsy and mainly unnecessary. The book is more like the DS9 characters reuniting to do a play or a different show, you can see them doing it, but its not them. It focuses not on star trek or the basic story of the television program but rather the ethnic conflicts of the time. These events are sadly true and must never be ignored, but there is a lot of bisect and not enough story. Don't buy this book if you expect a Star Trek book, buy it if you want to know what happened in those times. With the exception of the Star Trek bits (small and added on) this is a story focusing on racial bisect in the 1950s and the conflicts involved. This is one book hidden (badly) behind another book. It is about 'Benny Russell' and his life and has little to do with star trek. I will award this book three stars because to award it the five stars of a star trek book would be wrong because it is not star trek, Benny Russell could have been thinking of any Science fiction program in existence or in the imagination of the author. Its not Star Trek, but it is still a good book.
