Product Description

Star is back in the spotlight, and back in love...As she navigates Hollywood stardom and a hasty marriage to rock 'n' roll bad boy Jimi Deeds she learns the hard way that there's a lot of truth to the old saying 'marry in haste, repent in leisure...' But Star doesn't give in easily, and she doesn't give up. She perseveres with her marriage and her career, hitting the big screen in the big budget flick Livewire. Ever the small town girl, Star tries to create a happy home, but finds her attemps thwarted by the Hollywood scene and the scene stealers, the hangers on, and the party favours that fuel the Mad Hatter's Tea Party that is becoming their lives. And let's not forget that video tape...

I just read Star and then Star Struck in quick succession and I absolutely loved Star, it was funny, sweet and interesting. Star Struck is a completely different book, with a completely different character.

It is set just a couple of weeks after the end of Star, but Star herself has had a complete personality transplant. Gone is the wide eyed, sweet and sometimes daft character that made Star the book such a good read, been replaced by a weak willed, violent, deceptive diva. I was really disappointed by this book.

I did not understand the change in character in such a short space of time and it ruined the book for me. It was also slightly scary to read about this women being so completely controlled by a man and seemingly enjoying it. The lengths her friends went to get her the love scenes she needed on Lifeguards Inc, were not funny as they were obviously meant to be, but terrifying and screaming of domestic abuse. I geuinuely felt Star should have been sacked from all her jobs, she did not deserve her success any longer whereas in Star (book1) you were rooting for her to do well. The twists and turns throughout were ludicrous and seemed to be the author getting fed up of paparazzi in real life, to the extent that she let it ruin her own book.

I guess its still worth a read but more to see the drastic change from Book 1 than for anything else.

What a complete bore. After reading and enjoying 'Star' I assumed I would enjoy 'Star Struck', unfortunately not! This book has no real story line other than sex, which is the books main focus throughout. The story is dull and unrealistic. A complete and utter shambles with an even worse ending! Pammy should never have agreed to put her name to this book- what an embarrassment!

Star Struck is very much in the same style as Star, only the whole book is this time focused about Pams relationship with Tommy Lee. It's pretty pornographic, worse than the first, but like the first, seriously lacks any depth. You can't really 'get into it' if you know what I mean? For me it was disappointing, but then, so was the first. I'm really not sure about Pam's novel writing skills, with or without the help of Eric Shaw Quinn, the ghost writer. Another annoying ending, leaving you to wait probably another year for the next instalment. If you liked Star, you'll probably like this, but for me, there are far better reads around than this one. Sorry Pam!
