STAR SPANGLED RHYTHM 11 April 2011

STAR SPANGLED RHYTHM is probably the worst of all the Hollywood films where a studio flings most of its best stars into a bucket, i.e. putting os a show for the Forces, and then empties it out. This is Paramount's; compare it with THIS IS THE ARMY and STAGE DOOR CANTEEN (Warner Brothers, which is probably the best of this genre.)L The story is rubbish, and takes up far too much of the screen time. It has a few good tunes and dance numbers, but a talented cast goes for far too little. They don't make 'em like this any more, and they shouldn't, either.
It main virtue is curiosity value
