1.0 out of 5 stars Does not include Linux 20 July 2011
Despite the fact that it is clearly indicated that this is Windows 98-XP and Linux compatible. The three discs are all identical and only contain the Windows distribution.

On contacting Avanquest I made no progress. They didn't want to know. Don't waste your money unless you really do need Staroffice V8 for Windows, because that is all you will get.

Sadly, this is another pack of long-obsolete software that is now discontinued and no longer supported.
One might sympathise with the sellers predicament - a shelf full of out-of date stuff, but the software itself is so far past it's use-by date that it's approaching antique status.
Please look it up on Wikipedia if you doubt me.
"StarOffice, known briefly as Oracle Open Office before its discontinuation in 2010, is a proprietary office suite. It was originally developed by StarDivision which was acquired by Sun Microsystems in 1999. Sun was itself acquired in 2009 by Oracle Corporation."
Star Office 8 itself became obsolescent in 2008 when replaced by Star Office 9. That's almost 4 years ago now.
Excellent in its day, it is now obsolete and not supported. Star Office is no more.
The CDs might make interesting and amusing drinks coasters, maybe?
But not at this insulting price.
The Good News:
The Star Office project lead to Open Office, which eventually lead to Libre Office in 2010, and Libre Office is both very good and free to download - as well as being supported by its community.
Please look it up before wasting your money on this obsolete software. Not recommended.
