Product Description

Product Description
A parody of an old story, its sequels, their prequel sequel and its sequel prequels. In one book. Long, long, long, long ago in a galaxy far, far, far, far away...(Well, when I say long ago, I mean quite a long time ago; for instance, not right at the beginning of the Universe because everything was very hot then and the highest form of life was a sort of worm...) A story of unbelievable heroism, unspeakable villainy, where new but appallingly familiar characters mess about in a hilarious struggle of good versus evil using loads of cool machines. Meet Princess Liar, a heroine with a problem with the truth, Dark Visor, a mutant with a motorcycle, Choccibikki the Cookie and Hans Zup, a surrender-oriented hero and their ship The Millennium Bug. All will have a hand in the destiny of a young bartender when the droids DoRaymefar and SolaTeedo come to town...

About the Author
Steve Barlow and Steve Skidmore are both teachers of English and Drama in Leicestershire. In addition to numerous books for children of all ages, their humorous LOST DIARY and TALES OF THE DARK FOREST series have been especially sharp-witted and popular.

5.0 out of 5 stars ROTFL - Hilarious, 2 Dec 2004

Couldn't stop laughing at this book. The humour (or should that be humor) is quite American but Star Wars is an American film. I must admit as a parody it's not as funny as the Barry Trotter books but is a lot better than "Bored of the Rings". I know Star Wars is popular (I'm a fan myself) but this book makes fun of it from end to end. I's recommend this to anyone who likes parodies.

2.0 out of 5 stars Boring is the word, 27 Feb 2005
I started with 'Bored of the Rings' which I found hilarious, I coped with 'Barry Trotter' which was equally as good as Harry Potter, but this is one parody too far! It will be OK if you haven't read the other two parodies!

1.0 out of 5 stars star bores - correctly titled!, 30 Nov 2004

What can I say? Star Bores is without a doubt the most boring and unfunny parody ever written, (alongside the DREADFUL Bored of the Rings & The Soddit). There was probably one funny line in the entire book, the rest was typical American humour, which to us Brits just isn't funny. Even if your a Star Wars fan looking for a laugh, it isn't worth parting with your hard earned cash for this tiresome drivel, give it a wide birth!

Absolutely brilliant! My son has been a fan of the original Star Wars for many years and he has really enjoyed this particular brand of British humour. Read more
