About the Author
Louis Sachar lives in Texas where he creates his wonderful books. He writes for two hours a day and spends quite a lot of time walking his dog and playing bridge. Most recently Louis has been writing the screenplay of his novel HOLES, which is being made in to a film starring Jon Voigt, Sigourney Weaver and Patricia Arquette. Louis will also make a brief appearance in the film.

Louis Sachar has written a tongue in cheek spoof 'guide' to surviving the harsh regime of Camp Green Lake; the juvenile correction centre that features in his classic novel 'Holes'. This will only make sense to you if you've read 'Holes', but if you have it's well worth getting.

this book has fantastic insights and I feel every budding teenager should have access to this sort of guide to growing up (but don't tell them that is what it is). We had read Holes already, so it was like putting on a pair of old slippers, I don't know how the book would read without the prior knowledge, probably not the same impact, and impact is what it is all about with Louis Sachar books.

An indepth look at the personal lives of the offenders. I would recommend it to anyone who like 'Holes', really good quick read. (by my 13 year old son)

This is a very amusing and well written book which my 10 year old has enjoyed. You need to have read Holes though. Recommended.
