Bought this for my husband after he'd purchased a cheap version from one of the superstores. He is absolutely delighted with it. He leaves early in the morning and gets home quite late in the evening and when I've emptied his flask it is still hot enough to make a nice tea/coffee. I'd definitely recommend to anyone, Stanley products certainly live up to their name.
BEWARE!!!!Waisted £30 on this so called great looking built to last Yuk flask made from China!!!Not USA like old ones. Owned flask for 9months use it for first 3months and worked like expected to. Unused for 6months due to work give us free vendor hot drinks during winter months and Now it time to use again-It lukewarm 2.5hours and stone cold 4hours!!!. As always, i preheat flask with boiling water and let it stand for over 5mins while making teapot up. I never drop/damaged it or use anything to clean it with only under running tap water. SHAME as flask still looked new today and even still got the main misleading fault info rubbish label on history of stanley what this flask dose. I never buy stanley again and my next flask buy will be a good old UK made reliable Thermos 85 out of 0-customer great reviews. Only great point to make is great services from Amazon from ordering and delivery i received.
I gave this product a good rating when I bought it about one month ago, but already it is failing. It now keeps your hands warm carrying it on a cold day! Filled with boiling water, it only had a temperature of 78°C after two hours, against another Thermos manufactured flask I filled at the same time which had 94°C. I join others that have criticised this Stanley 1.9 Litre Classic flask for a similar reason of failureAladdin Stanley1.9l Classic Stainless Steel flask (green).
I purchased this product as I needed a large flask for family picnics. I liked the look of it and believed that Stanley flasks had a good reputation for functionality. However the first time I used it I was very dissapointed as the boiling water I put into the flask was lukewarm within a few hours even thought I had followed the instructions and heated the flask before filling. I re-tested it twice but the results were the same. I returned the flask to Amazon and was very happy with the returns procedure which I found simple to use and efficient.
After receiving this product 3 days after ordering, I was impressed by the superb quality of the product and how robust it seemed to be and I have a good feeling this will last me a good few years! When I had a look around the product I decided to have a little test considering some people have said that this product does not keep the liquid hot and is luke warm by lunch and I didn't want to be let down on when I try it out on the weekend. So after heating my flask by filling it with boiled water straight from the kettle I put the lid and cup back on and left it for about 10-15 mins whilst I read the leaflet it came with and I recommend to pre-heat with boiling water not hot tap water as my (possibly everyone elses) hot tap water is around 48 degrees Celsius and obviously boiling water is 100 degrees Celsius and in my mind that is 50 more degrees it has to warm the flask by! And in the mean time boil another kettle full of water having a large kettle helps and conveniently my kettles max fill was 1.9L's! And I checked the temperature which was 94 degrees Celsius and then after working out what a usual day would be and how many hours it would be till lunch I worked out around 5-6 hours if filled up at around 7 am so I waited 4 hours (impatience got the better of me!) I measured the temperature again and it was 89-90 degrees Celsius which I thought was exceptional considering it was loosing about a degree celsuis an hour! But obviously it will cool a little quicker when opened a few times to make your self a drink. Another point considering its size is how light it was! (not when filled it is like carrying a 2l pop bottle around!) But this size of flask is to throw in the back of the 4x4 when on a day out or in the back of the van when working, I wouldn't recommend it for backpackers due to its size and filled weight. Overall I was extremely pleased with this product and due to its build quality I feel it will last me a great number of years! And if anything does go wrong I have the warranty but don't be fooled with the 'Lifetime warranty' as a little black sticker in the corner states that it is only a 25 year warranty if you purchased it in Europe! But I suppose if you get 25 years or more out of this product then that £31.26 was money well spent! I hope you will enjoy this product as much as I do! :)Read more ›
