Now in a more compact case, this traditional Powerlock tape is easier to hold and use and can be conveniently stored on a belt with the belt clip attached. The 19mm Mylar coated blade is 10 times more resistant to abrasion than normal lacquered blades and has a larger stand out for one-person use. The True Zero hook, secured with three rivets to prevent breakage, allows accurate internal and exterior measurements.

This is an absolutely lovely tape measure to use, particularly if you have no one to help do measurements, which is frequently the case with me. I started out with this 5-metre tape measure until someone else took a liking to it and wandered off with it, when I took the opportunity to buy the 10 metre version instead.
The tape is housed in a sturdy metal outer, with a belt clip on the rear (never used that, so I don't know how good it is, but it seems strong). The measuring tape is easy to read and, if you do pull it all out, there is a warning at the end of the reel that you have got no more tape left - which has prevented me from yanking out too much tape and breaking it (although I think that would be difficult as it does feel very robustly made).
One of the best features is the lock, which holds the tape firmly at the point it is applied until you choose to release it again - such an advantage when there is no one to hold the other end of the tape. The tape rewinds itself switftly back in again once the lock is released.
In summary, any of this range of tape measures works well, the longer the tape the heavier the unit gets and vice versa. I would recommend the 10 metre length as I have rarely needed to do multiple measurements with it and it will probably suit most requirements. The 5 metre tape is just a smaller (in overall dimensions and weight) version that you may prefer if you rarely need to measure anything beyond 5 metres.

In my work I need reliable, sturdy tools. this fits the bill. Light but tough, easy to use and lockable. Unlike some cheaper versions the measure does not bed when measuring verticals until it is well extended.
