I first heard this on the current album and found it quite disturbing.After listening to it a few times i soon realised what a masterpiece slim shady had written.the story tells itself, an obsessed fan named ' Stan ' wanting to get noticed by his idol....when eminem fails to reply to his letters, stan takes drastic action unbeknown to him his hero has already written to him apologising....but its too late...a brilliantly well written song which although controversial,becomes poignant and his very best....well done slim shady!!!

This is probably Eminems best song. It's really deep, moving and thought provoking. It actually leaves a strong impression. It's instantly addictive, I'd describe it as a masterpiece. Some of the lyrics are a bit strong but who cares - that's life. The chorus provided by Dido adds a nice soft contrasting touch to the song. She has an excellent voice. The video is great too. Don't waste any time, just go out and buy it ... This one is definitely heading for the top.

this song is simply the most moving, piece of hip hop ever created. Eminem is a lyrical genius and he proves this in this track. It is the hottest track of the incredible Marshall Mathers LP, and with the vocal talent of Dido portrays the contrevertial story of an obsessed fan. Brilliance without a doubt.

"Stan" is a song based on a true story of an obsessive Eminem fan of the same name.
Whilst it has been slammed in the press for its explicit lyrics, I believe this is an absolute masterpiece of the 21st century that should be uncensored and appreciated for what it's worth by the masses. The song is shocking, granted, but at the same time it is moving and thought-provoking as well as being beautiful, with a sample from Dido's track "Thank You" which perfectly forms the chorous of the song.
I am not a great fan of Eminem myself, but this track is nothing short of genius. If you don't like Eminem, I urge you to take a listen - you won't be dissapointed.
If there is any justice, this absolute masterpiece of a song will be Christmas number one.

Stan is an EXCELLENT song, by the best person in the world.. THe lyrics are clever and intelligent... and there is a faint glimpse of humore towards the end... It features the amazing video, and Eminems first single My name is. Along with Get you Mad feat. Dj Green Lantern. A funny song. Its a must have for any Eminem fan, and because its Amazon, expect it cheap... BUY IT! Its great. I know it word perfect... It never gets old. Also this may be a rare chance to get it as it is an old cd.. xxxx

The song is cool. The Great Eminem and fantastic Dido make this song great. The video spooks you out specially at the end when you see Stan staring in the window! 1,000,000 out of 10.

wow!!!!! the first time I heard it i thought man this is deep! so the next day i bought it his album is excelent! but stan no song can beat stan to me it just sounded like real life this is good music and i suggest you lot buy it coz u will love it!!!!!!!

Wonderfully written modern rap with excellent lyrics.
The explicit content of this single perhaps prohibits younger fans from listening, but 'Stan' is an excellent mix of modern rap with excellent (if explicit) lyrics.
