5.0 out of 5 stars For those interested in knowing the time 27 Jan 2012

I am retired and almost seventy years old. I have owned watches from the Rolex President in 18k gold, Girard Perregaux , Omegas and others. I recently bought a Traser Classic with a black dial and a leather band. One has to decide why they are purchasing a watch. There is prestige, jewelry, fashion or practicality. I guess I've reached a stage in life that I want accurate, easy to read time, with construction and a quality movement. I am no longer active enough to keep automatic movements wound. The Swiss quartz movement is accurate within a half a second per day. The black dial with the large white numerals is easy to read. The Tritium illumination is wonderful in dark places and next to my bed. I can't say enough for this watch. I have been looking for something similar to this for years. I am happy to say that I found it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Traser watch is a winner 15 Aug 2013

I bought this watch because I was looking for a Tritium watch without tactical markings all over it. I love it. Its extremely easy to read and it looks nice. It's the perfect size for me. Its not too small and it's not comically huge either. It's accurate and very readable at night with the Tritium markers. The second hand has Tritium too. I've had it 6 months now, and it works great! I bought the one with the black leather band and I couldn't be happier.
If you are thinking about getting this watch, I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read but not stylish 14 April 2011
By Wayne Lipe - Published on Amazon.com
I've had the watch for a year and really like it. It gains about 5 seconds a month, which I consider acceptable for an analog watch. The tritium is extremely bright and the watch easy to read with just a glance in any light.

I'm hard on watches and the SS case is scratched but the crystal is still perfect. It is a mineral crystal, which isn't as hard as the sapphire ones, but it seems quite scratch resistant.

The watch is obviously designed for geriatrics. The Traser boilerplate features geriatrics. They would have done better to just leave the tiny date off the watch and put a 3 in its place. I read without glasses but can't read the date.

The choice of bands is poor IMO. It is available with an expansion band, but the end is square and emphasizes the scaled down Westclock alarm clock look of the watch, which is quite thick. I don't like expansion bands so I opted for leather. The leather band is really quite nice with the butterfly unit that takes stress from the buckle. You put it on like a metal band. I recently bought a solid stainless band for it with curved ends. I think the watch looks better and it doesn't collect perspiration.

The watch is quite large. They could have scaled it down 20% and it would have still been easily readable. I do like that it doesn't have a large useless bezel.

2.0 out of 5 stars Watch is thick and "cylindrical", poor-quality casing and hands 17 Dec 2013

I was looking into adding a tritium watch to my collection and this one looked like a promising choice. It appeared to be sleek, with very sharp numbers; an open, minimalistic face; and minimal frame.

Unfortunately, when I received the watch and could see it at other angles, I found it nothing like what I expected. The casing is basically a high, cylindrical tube with a flat mineral cover. The body of the watch is basically shaped like a section of a cardboard tube, and is high enough that it does not reasonably fit under any cuffed long sleeve shirt.

The hands on the watch that I received also looked... just cheap. The second hand in particular curved downwards (towards the face) from the axle and had a very clunky chop-tick. The tritium tubes worked just fine, but all-in-all that is not enough to redeem this watch when you can easily purchase cheaper watches that bear better crafting.

I felt like I spent $200 on a $30 watch with $170 for the tritium tubes. All around just a disappointingly shoddy purchase that I promptly returned. Thank you to Amazon for the expedient refund.
2.0 out of 5 stars Looks Nice But...... 28 May 2014

Watch is clunky and the strap is uncomfortable. Watch is inexpensive, so I assumed the strap would be simple. But it is heavier than the watch, mainly due to the elaborate buckle. It's unwearable for skinny wrists.
