The first thing that struck me about this book is how thorough the content is. It covers all aspects of Stage 3 in a lot of detail. Because it was written by someone who went through the process, it has a lot of really useful tips that will make a difference on the day. The section on role play is very comprehensive and the practice scenarios are very realistic and useful to go through with colleagues. The most enlightening section was that on group discussions. I wish I had read that book last year when I first applied for GPST! The book takes you through the detail of what is expected of you and shows you well how to make sure that you can work with the other candidates in your group discussion to ensure that you demonstrate a good team approach to problem solving and discussion. The section on task prioritisation is also extremely useful and because the practice exercises show you the different styles that you can be asked, it really prepares you well for what most people see as a very difficult station in the selection centre.
With almost 300 pages, the book is very comprehensive and well worth the investment!
