Fimo soft modelling clay is an oven-hardening polymer clay. It is smooth and soft and ready to use from the packet. The clay is easy to work with and blend and available in vibrant colours. The clay needs to be baked in the oven at 110°C for 30 minutes to harden.
'Kits for Kids' are modelling sets with attractive cardboard brochures and are ideal for creative beginners and children. The cardboard packaging contains detailed, easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions to enable you to create the models featured on the front of the packaging. The 'Pets' Kit for Kids contains 4 half blocks of Fimo (each 25g) in white, black, orange and red.
There are a total of 8 'kits for kids' available including 'monsters, 'bears', 'pirate island' and 'space aliens'.
Fimo is not recommended for children under the age of 8.

Bought this for my 9 year old daughter for a stocking filler. There is plenty of clay to make several animals (depending on size), we have made 3 dogs so far! it is a little fiddly so unless you have a very artistic child then it's something to do with an adult. The instructions are clear, and in the form of photographs so they are easy to follow. The fimo is soft and easy to manipulate.

Fimo is great for kids, its very like plasticine, but with the advantage of being able to be set in the oven to keep the best models. This set is great for any animal loving child, my 9 year old neice got this for her birthday at the end of November and made my father a smakl dog for his christmas present. The instructions are nice and simple, but you can use it to make anything you like, from these dogs to professional jewellery. Look on you tube for lots of inspiration.
Some hints abot working with fimo - keep it wrapped up between uses if you can so it doesnt get too dry. Dont leave it on anything made of plastic, including cutting sheets, as it can react and cause melting or staining over time - think weeks, not minutes!! So best if you open the packet carefully for small kids to be able to reuse it. Dont be tempted to put the oven on fan or hot, it can burn and change colour and smell awful - no flames though. You can also use common objects such as leaves etc to imprint a texture before firing, but if its anything you want to keep clean and/or is ornate rub a tiny bit of olive oil on it first so it comes off easily.
