Whilst the movie isn't on everyone's 'classic' list, it's ok and worth seeing. But the soundtrack is definately worthy of a listen. Whilst everyone knows the John Parr Man In Motion track (and this is still the standout here), there are a number of lesser tracks that 27(!) years later are ripe for rediscovery, the highlight of which has to be 'Stressed Out (Close To The Edge)' by Airplay. I'd never heard of them before but what a great track! It reminded me slightly of what Take That tried to do with their Progressed album.
Although all the tracks are very much mid 80's, and probably won't appeal to anyone young enough to have no idea who any of the stars from the movie are, it's a perfect soundtrack for those who do remember the 80's but may not remember any of the tracks from the film.
