5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Awesome 1 Jun 2010
Durability: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Fantastic piece of kit, very stable to fly and surprisingly strong!! However a little large to fly indoors, unless you live in a hanger!! Great outdoors, just do not fly if there is any wind, its to light!! Hours of fun though!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great fun! 4 Jan 2011
Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 2.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this for my son, and he absolutely loves it. It is incredibly strong and durable, even after numerous crashes, and is a really powerful machine, but just don't touch the rotor blades because it really hurts! It is a little tricky to fly so it's not for little kids. Two critisisms are that it doesn't fly for very long before it needs recharging and you need quite a big space to truly enjoy. However, overall it has provided hours of entertainment and i would give it 4/5.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easiest to fly, biggest and best Chinook! 19 Jan 2011
Durability: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Have had this for 3 weeks now (Since Christmas) and also have 5 other RC helicopters (yes, i'm slightly obsessed!).

If you have a large space, this is the best Chinook to buy. It is very powerful, stable and easy to control but I emphasize you NEED A BIG SPACE. Having said that, once you have mastered the controls it is stable enough to fly indoors - if you're brave.

Bad points: Battery doesn't last long, Creates massive downdraft, noisy.
Good points: Fun, easy, powerful (attach a string+hook to lift small loads!), stable, battery charger has proper lights to show you when it's finished charging, anyone can fly it.

After numerous high speed impacts, the tail rotor has finally given in (being a bit too daring indoors) so am on the lookout for a new one now, oops!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Heli! 24 April 2011
By Matt
Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is an amazing helicopter I've had it for 5 days now and is very durable as I have crashed a few times as I've only had 1 other outdoor helicopter.
It can fly indoors but only if your a skilled pilot, or if you have a large room in your house as it is quite boring just hovering in 1 place. It is better to fly outdoors though as you can do more manouvering, i live in a relatively small house and the garden is fairly small but I am confident to fly over my neighbours gardens now but when i do i fly at least 5m high.
It has a relitavley long battery time in a charge time of around 1hr 45min you get a flight time of around 15minutes.
It is a high powered heli and can gain height fast which means you can carry things by strings such as toy cars or small rc helis!
Overall great heli and worth every single pennie!

4.0 out of 5 stars Chinook 13 April 2011
Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this on a whim and have to say that I don't regret it. My only reservation is that it is quite difficult to control but this is probably more a fault with me rather than the helicopter.

I have flown it outside and crashed it from 30 feet and more in the air and into trees and it still keeps on going. What it lacks in precise control it makes up for in sheer toughness.

If a manufacturer is reading this it would be good to have some kind of hook mechanism on the underside that string could be attached to and that would let go at the press of a button, thereby one could transport and drop things off to people which would broaden the appeal of this great toy.

I would definitely get one, very good value.

2.0 out of 5 stars syma so22 big chinook 17 Nov 2011
By Dnash
Durability: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
i got this as a gift, i love all things flying especially helicopters. i am no means an enthusiast just someone who wants to fly but not just a toy i was hoping for a little more control.

first thing to bare in mind is IT HAS NO GYRO, this means yes it has all the anoying charicteristics of those 3 channel helis that tend to spin in one direction then you trim it but that only lasts a few minutes and it spins again not fast but just starts to wander in one direction.

next point is, it really is big and loud, if you have a small house this is not for you, i took off in my living room and hit every wall the celing then the dog, i was initially impressed that it didnt break. however i was very frustrated that it was NOT easy in a small space (and i am not that bad) it kind of gets sucked into walls.

next Durability, after the 3rd charge and flight it was broken for good, the front top blades stopped turning, this is due not just to crashing but the blades hit each other in flight if you are too heavy handed (its very hard not to be)
i have since diagnosed a faulty motor (if you are going to crash cut the power, having power in the motor when it suddenly stops breaks them) i got a spare part off the net which is handy.

charging takes an hour but you do get a long flight time 10-15 minutes maybe more.

FUN: i have to say even after all that it is great fun, in a large space like a gym or hall you have time to trim it and then can go on a flight right round the room even landing where you want, if you are looking for stress free indoor flying this isnt it, get the small one with the gyro, as its only 20 and not 40

UPDATE!!!! 27/11/11
ok got new motor from the web 8 radiocontrolfreak.co.
