Product Description

"Craig’s writing is in-your-face funny and genius. He has a fan for life because I loved, loved, loved this book. One of my top ten best books of all time."
Dionne Lister.
“I find it hard to find books that genuinely make me laugh and this book is without a doubt the funniest thing I've ever read. I laughed so much that I had tears in my eyes.” @wordsbywilliams
“Throughout the book I had to stiffle guffaws so as not to disturb those around me.” ReGi Mcclain
“Absolutely one of the best books I have ever read. He is not only hilarious in his story telling, but he describes things in a most creative way you would never imagine” Rebecca
“His disjointed, stream-of-consciousness writing reminded me of Hunter S. Thompson on a drug-induced rant.” Marsha Cornelius
“I have given to it 5 stars, but only because I cannot give it 10. One of the best books I have read this year so far” Cinta Garcia.
“I smile whenever I think about this book!” Lisa Shambrook
“If Jonathan Winters, Robin Williams AND Tibor Fischer married and had a child, this author would be their son.” Sharon Buchbinder
“Craig Stone is one of the most promising young writers to grace the indie and self-publishing world.” ENovel Reviews.
“There should be a warning on the cover about reading it in the presence of others because you will end up laughing raucously at the turn of every page.” Rob Powell
“One of the strangest, yet most compelling books that I've read in a long time. Sort of like Odd Thomas had a nervous breakdown, and was being written by Robert Rankin after someone had given him a cup of tea laced with magic mushrooms.”
Graeme Reynolds
“I won't give a synopsis here except to say it's based on Stone's own vagrant experience and if you ever wondered what the beardy dude on the park bench was thinking, you can bet you wouldn't think it was this.” RaeJoyce
“If you happen to be taking a sip when you hit one of those ridiculously ingenious images that come from the clever mind of Mr. Stone, whatever you’re drinking will end up coming out your nose.” T.W. Dittmer
“A delightful read. The Squirrel That Dreamt Of Madness is brilliantly creative, often delightfully irrational, with a humorous look at the harshness of reality.”
Susan Stec
"I read about halfway through Fifty Shades of Grey before the writing equivalent of listening to Les Dawson on piano made my want to set fire to my Kindle, then sniff myself to death on the probably highly toxic ashes. The Squirrel that Dreamt of Madness? I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!" Dave Price.

*****

"Sometimes you need sit in the wrong place to see the right view".

What if you listened to that voice in your head telling you to walk out of your job? What if another voice, in a peculiar French accent, was telling you to go and live in a park?
What if you listened to both voices and ended up sitting on a park bench, having walked out on your job and flat earlier that day, with no idea what you are doing?

Well, that's what I did.

This is the story I made up whilst trying to keep my sanity as I lived alone in a park, as I came to terms with what I was doing, after making some extremely bold, and some might say, stupid choices.

I sat under a tree in real life, writing about what it was like to be homeless. After a while, due to starvation and lack of human contact, I started writing a rambling story that was my minds only outlet.

The Squirrel that Dreamt of Madness is that story.

Download this book now, it costs less than a coffee or a box of monster munch, and find out for yourself what the bearded man in the shop doorway is really thinking.

5.0 out of 5 stars A classic in the making 1 Sep 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
A literary montage of: Cast Away, without Wilson; One flew over the cuckoo's nest, without the Chief; Catch-22, without the war; and The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, without the Albatross, or the iambic tetrameter. All of which are classics, so it should probably be put on the National Curriculum. Except, you wouldn't really want kids reading it.

If you want a read that is funny, witty, in parts bizzare yet real, and draws you in to the effect that you feel you know the characters and care about their outcome then enjoy a truly futuristic tale by this author which remains ? fiction ?fantasy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Utterly brilliant. You must read this book! 12 Oct 2011
By Lisa
Format:Kindle Edition
Although this isn't the type of book I normally choose to read, it and the author intrigued me so much that I had to give it a chance. I absolutely loved it. The characters are superb, showing the authors deep understanding of the human psyche whilst giving the reader the opportunity to see life from a fresh perspective. The combination of the real, surreal and the out-right random aspects of the plot left me laughing out loud throughout, yet there were moments when it really caused me to think anew about how we live our lives. Like me, this may not be your normal read but give it a go. I promise that you wont be disappointed.
