This is an excellent book which is very easy to use. The first section guides you through diagnosing the injury by using pictures to identify where it hurts and then clear text for more details. It gives good advice on how to treat yourself and when to see a doctor. The second part of the book gives 'training ladders' to help you recover as quickly as possible. Other useful sections include advice on how to avoid injuries in the first place and a sport by sport guide to common injuries.

I have recently used this book to help me through the aches and pains of training for a marathon and found it useful for guidance on recovering from genuine injuries as well as for reassurance that, most of the time, there was nothing seriously wrong!

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent in parts! 25 Feb 2007
Format:Hardcover
This is a very good book except the section on stretching which does not seem to reflect current theory and practice. There is for instance no mention of dynamic stretching. Don't let this minor fault put you off. Buy a good book on stretching to go with it.

This book will save you lots of time, effort and worrying if you are ever unfortunate enough to suffer from a sports injury!
I take the book with me on skiing holidays and use it to help not only myself but others who may have had accidents!

It's simple, concise and well-organised, making it easy to get the information you need with as little hassle as possible!

Fantastic!
