Product Description

Sports Betting To Win has been written to help you to become a more successful and profitable trader. It is unfortunate but true that the majority of people involved in sports betting are not profitable. There are a number of reasons for this but one of the most common elements that separates those that are successful and those that are not is discipline. Sports Betting To Win will teach you practical techniques and strategies that will help you to set yourself up for betting success and to develop the discipline required to make, and then to maximise your profits.

The title of the book may lead you to believe that it provides some strategy or clever method "to win" at sports betting. However, as the author himself says in the Preface: "This is not a book about sports-betting strategy. It is a book about sports-betting discipline".

Its an easy read which essentially appears to come down to: plan, know your stuff, be disciplined, keep calm and keep a record.

If betting strategy is more your interest, I have read a couple of good books including one by Peter Norsted who coincidentally is a contributor to this book (and is maybe the same Peter Norsted who provided an Amazon review of this book??). His book is: Mastering Betfair. The other excellent book is "Lay, back and think of WINNING" by Nigel Paul : Lay,Back and Think of Winning: Guaranteed Winning Systems for the Betting Exchange

Waste of money 17 May 2011
By Monty
Format:Paperback
An amalgamation of ideas & quotes from some good writers and traders but, but also contribution from some questionable ones as well. Most of this information contained in this book is freely available on the Internet. This is money not well spent.

An essential Read 1 April 2011
Format:Paperback
If you are looking to put your sports betting or trading on a more professional level then I would certainly advise that before you place another bet or trade that you read Steve Wards excellent new book Sports Betting To Win.

This book gives you both the psychological mindset and the essential and very often overlooked fundamentals to become successful in the sports betting / trading arena.

The book goes on to describe the discipline, preparation and administration that need to be carried out if you are going to survive in this tough game.

I can guarantee that by reading this book a number of times and by digesting and implementing its contents along with participating in the various exercises you will begin to acquire the mindset to become a better trader or punter than you are at this moment in time. Indeed by following the methods shown in this book you will be ready to take on the sporting markets far better prepared than you ever have been and you will be in a far better position to succeed.

As a person who is now a full time sports trader after serving in the RAF for 25 years I have found the transition from salaried employee to full time trader harder than I initially anticipated.

However after reading the input from various other professionals on how they coped with the transition of going full time I soon realised that I was not the only person who had these uncertainties in finding it a challenge to adjust to my new role.

In summary this is an excellent book that should be read on a regular basis and should be an essential part of any punter/traders armoury. I believe this is certainly the best book dealing with this subject on the market and is an excellent follow up to his previous book High Performance Trading
