5.0 out of 5 stars Completely mad but fantastic 1 Aug 2003
What can I say? Three fish detectives go off to rescue a green eyed water giraffe that has a flipper stuck in a giant clam, whilst helping an island whale get a holiday. Any book with this, plus supermonkey and a hobgoblin who cooks gourmet food on one boot and uses the other as a telephone, gets my vote

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Fun! 31 Mar 2007
By kehs TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Three troubleshooting fish tackle any problems that come their way. First problem they have to solve is how to relieve a whale from holding up an island so he can go on holiday. Second problem is rescuing a Green-Eyed Water Giraffe who is trapped in a giant clam. Along the way the intrepid trio meet a hobgoblin with magic boots, nine monkeys (one of which turns into Supermonkey), Wobbler the Dolphin and Umbrella The Gorilla.

This is a superbly funny, amazingly inventive story that has come from an incredibly imaginative mind. If you love quirky and humorous books then this is one for you. A fantastically fun read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book ever! 12 Aug 2004
My mum got this book from a charity shop when I was about 7 but I only got round to reading it about 2 years later. When I had finished I couldn't believe I'd put it off for so long! Since then I've read it countless times and it's still as funny as it was all those years ago (I'm now 22). I would recommend this book to anyone from the age of 7 to 70, as long as you have an imagination and sense of humour, you should love it. If there's any way you can get hold of a copy, do so as soon as possible, you don't know what you're missing!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for any child (and adult!) 26 July 2009
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I read this book with my dad over and over when I was a child. Then lots more when I could read it all myself. It is a fantastic fun read. I now have a 3 year old son and have searched high and low for this book, as my copy was handed down through the family and eventually lost. I am so pleased that my son will get to read this wonderfully written and imaginative book.
