Post-War England in the 1950s. Recovery from the war is a long time coming, and austerity is still keenly felt. The cracks are beginning to show in everything that held the country together, and in family lives on both sides of the class divide. The wealthy Warringtons are split down the middle as Beth becomes a Labour MP which, for her husband John, marks the end of their road together. Magnificent presentation of post WW2 stories. All 6 DVDs in the complete series of Spoils of War are superb television. Truth within the experiences of families, communities, capitalism and religion are portrayed within the context of the violent history of the second world war and the aftermath of the that world upheaval over almost the next two decades.

This is a five star series and captures the era perfectly. It is well portrayed and costumes and settings are perfect to the era. I found this enthralling and sorry to come to the end of the disc and series. The emotions and feelings are well acted out, I don't know if there is another series, but the storyline is left open, and I look forward should another series be found and put onto disc.

Well written series
It keeps up the standard of Series 1 & 2 of this competent tale of contrasting families in the gritty part of the North after WW2. Great!

Spoils Of War 3
Having watched series 1&2 I was reasonably impressed and am finding the third series even better I would recomend this product to anyone who likes 70/80's war dramas.
