Okay, so been playing with it for a few days now, I am not really used to a mouse but I wanted to see if I could improve my accuracy and it works!!! I am on my target faster than I could normally be with a controller, (which says something because I am really good with a controller). I think anyone who is good with a mouse to begin with would blow controller based competition out of the water.
I have only been playing around and experimenting with COD games so far MW3 included, but for these games this works great. The movement is smooth and precise, I haven't detected any lag myself and no staircasing. I find the ability to remap buttons really useful (dropshots etc;).
Okay, so now the cons (aren't there always cons?) -
Yes, you do need to have a licensed wired microsoft controller to make it work.
One of my biggest gripes though has to be the fact that it does "NOT" support xbox live party chat, or private chat. It only supports multiplayer in game chat. This was not stated clearly when I checked out reviews but does say it in the manual that comes with it. If you are always in a party then this might be the downfall for you.
One other minor thing - sometimes, but not often the xbox will state that there is no controller connected, then within about a second it will be working again. I don't know what causes this but it is an occasional and minor inconvenience.....
All in all this proved a great product for me...

Update:
Okay, I have previously mentioned that this product does not support xbox live party chat and this is true but i have found a half way work around, (I use turtle beach x41).

Dont buy if you have small to average size hands, the mouse is way too big. Im having real problems with game play with this, if you could replace the mouse with a Logitech MX mouse then i would give it 5 stars for sure, but as is....well, i feel i have wasted my money and im too late to return it to Amazon.

Appalling customer support, Splitfish eventually told me because the way the Slim poweres USB ports that the Shark could disconnect, very briefly and it would interrupt gameplay, it was very rare for this to happen but annoying when it did, Amazon is processing my return, I got the Eagle Eye instead, and I'm finding it better for a lot of games.

That was another thing wrong with this, the games it worked well with were Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3, one thing I found disappointing was that it worked poorly with Max Payne 3, the Eagle Eye works well.

If you have a Slim and this doesn't happen to you you're lucky! I had 2 and they both did it, that's when I contacted Splitfish.

This is it! Finally it is porrible to play good fps on the console with a proper mouse.
I played a couple of hours with it and have to say that after some time you really get used to the the frag fx. It does what if promises!
It's headshot time!
Cheers

The Split Fish, at first, seems great. Finally something better than the XBox360 controller; especially if you have arthritis like myself and find the size of the official controller a little too big for your fingers. Unfortunately, after a few months of use the left mouse button stopped working. This first controller I bought from the original German website. I logged a complaint and waited for a reply. And waited. And waited. During the time I waited I bought a new Split Fish from Amazon because I couldn't wait. It's been a year now, and the people in Germany still haven't got back to me despite numerous emails, and by the way, the phone number doesn't work - no surprise there.
Guess what???!!! The left mouse button, after 3 months use, has given up on me. The only game I've used it with is MW3. DO NOT, EVER, EVER, EVER buy this piece of rubbish!!!!
I'll try to get it repaired through amazon but I don't think it'll happen because I unscrewed the mouse, breaking a few seals, to look inside to see what went wrong (I'm an electrical engineer by the way). The 'left click' switch attached to the pcb (printed circuit board) was 'tired'. 'Tired' way beyond its capabilities. My conclusion is that the mouse has not been tested correctly (particularly the left mouse switch, that is to say that 'it's life before redundancy' was incorrectly reported).
DO NOT BUY THIS, £60 for 3 Months usage, that's £240 a year!!! For what?
Great for a few months until you have buy it all over again..... DON'T BE A MUG!!!

If like me you have a cabinet full of mods, thumstick levers, gel tabz and crazy controller attachments. You are probably more at home fragging with a keyboard and mouse on a high end PC, this is why you know first hand that something is lacking when it comes to controlling Xbox games...this is fine if everybody has the same handicap but this has changed. The best players are not using conventional controllers, they are using similar devices to this or using a keyboard and mouse courtesy of Xim3.
It is simple to set up. Crank up the in game sensitivity to max and then turn the dial on the nunchuck until the movement smoothes out(usually about 4 for me in BF3 and 5 for Cod).
If you are not familiar with keyboard and mouse gaming there will be a learning curve.
I suggest users remap the run button on the nunchuck to a thumb button on the mouse( the clicking noise is distracting).
I would also suggest resting the whole hand on the mouse and not the claw technique prefered by some gamers, because this is a large mouse.
In my opinion this is a first class product if you dont have a spare 15 hours a day to perfect your gamepad skills and can afford the £70ish.
See you on the Battlefield (im the one with the iron sight SKS in rapid fire):P
