This release seemed to pass me by but having just got the Jesu? Envy Split on Daymare recordings and seeing the release of the Jesu tracks from the Eluvium split, i stumbled across this. The first two tracks are Jesu followed by two from Julie Christmas (Made out of Babies) fronted Battle Of Mice.
Both Jesu compositions wont bring any suprises, the first one comes across a lot lets droney with a clear guitar sound, and the second is classic jesu. - i simply cannot get enough of his lush layered sounds, and drone textures. Its mesmerizing and beautiful.
Battle of Mice are ACE!! Julie Christmas has such an amzing voice akin to Jarboe in places and a great scream. Musically it is more raucous than Jesu, so if yr in Headphone country and drifting off to Justin's sonic lullaby this may suddenly make you jump.
