Review

Praise for Orphan of the Sun: 'Well-researched and extremely filmic, you can almost feel the heat and taste the ripe figs' Bookseller 'A rich story. The author's love for the place is evident and allows you to imagine events clearly even without any prior knowledge of ancient Egypt. An unusual, well researched book' School Librarian 'Orphan of the Sun is a great resource to use for the Egyptians, and has an accompanying website bursting with information' Junior Education 'Stories set in Ancient Egypt are rare so this is very welcome. Details of life at the time, the food, drink, clothing and customs come alive as part of the story, not indigestible facts' Books for Keeps

Great YA Fiction 6 Sep 2009
By Gareth Wilson - Falcata Times Blog TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
One of the problems that parents often have is trying to find ways to interest the young reader. What this offering from Gill does is present the readers with a story that not only thrills them but allows them to learn about ancient Egypt and their gods. Its quirky, its fun and above all it's a story that will appeal to both genders as the author presents an engaging tale of mystery, suspense and above all a story that will keep the reader guessing as to the perpetrator of the crime for which our heroes investigate. Subsequent books in the series will be released next year.
