Made early in Jackie Chan's career, this is Lo Wei's effort to cash in on Jackie's success as a 'comedy kung-fu fighter'. The comedy isn't as funny as it usually is with Jackie - it's mostly dodgey slapstick involving him stuffing animals down his trousers - but the fighting it brilliant and the end fight is a must-see. The story is that a book detailling an unbeatable style of fighting is stolen from a monastery (unfortunately whilst Jackie is supposed to be on guard duty). This leads to much intrigue and worry as the book teaching the only style able to defeat this unbeatable form went missing many years ago during some kind of disaster. However, Jackie finds this book and - thanks to the five ghosts that inhabit it - he masters the style. All I can say is, ignore the majority of the humour and don't let the weird makeup and *special* effects put you off. The fights are truely amazing!!
