Truly Great if you love 50, Eminem , G - Unit etc...& cant see past those people THIS ISN'T FOR YOU . If u love the new "old" school rebirth of nice, smooth beats & MC's who gont have to cuss like he's on commission (sorry 50$). Kaze is a sorta throwback to the days of Ed OG , CL Smooth of the early 90's has a smooth delivery & combined with 9th . This is Ear nectar for the matured b- boy . GET UNIFORMS & BUY THIS

N.C.'s Best Kept Secret (4 Stars) 1 Sep 2005
By Norfeest - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
The Spirit Of '94: Version 9.0 is a remix of his 2003 release (Spirit Of '94). For me, getting this album was a no brainer because 1994 was one of the best years for hip hop releases, so I hopped on this one in hopes that he would rhyme with the same hunger that the emcees back then had. I must admit that the results are pretty good. There are tight tracks all throughout the album. Kaze (pronounced Kah - Zee) rips track after track with a hunger that is rarely heard nowadays. The production is handled by 9th Wonder and he does a great job of keeping his sound fresh here. These are some of the best beats I've heard from 9th in a while.

Even though there are so many good songs on the album, there are still a few songs that fall short. "On" is a bonus track that suffers from some suspect production and it's kind of boring. The same could be said about "Last Laugh" and "Soul Dojo (Enemy Of The State Mix)" as well. "50/50" isn't boring at all, but it's one of those songs that I have to be in the mood for or I'll skip it. Really, the fact that some tracks are boring is the only issue that I have with this album.

The Spirit Of '94 is still a tight album. 9th does an excellent job on the boards and Kaze rips track after track in that old school fashion that's reminiscent of hip hop of '94. I'll definitely be checking for Kaze on his next go around. If he continues on like this, he won't be a secret for much longer. This would make an excellent addition to any music collection. Highly reccomended.

Standout Tracks: Soul Dojo feat. AK Slaughter, Spirit Of '94, Move Over feat. Nature, Should've Been Here (My Favorite), Stay A Customer, For The Record, & What's Good

This album is hot!! 25 Nov 2005

After getting hold of the Little Brother albums, Murs's 3:16, and the Buckshot and 9th Wonder album, i really fell in love with 9THs skills. This album is now my favorite out of the lot, and all of them are superb...

The reason this 1 sits at the top of my pedi stool is Kaze. This guy can spit fire, yet keep his lyrical content inspirational and spiritual. His word play and flow can be stunning at times. Put this together with some of the best beats and sampling 9th has come out with, and you have an album worthy of any hip hop library. From the heartfilled and soulful "Should've Been Here", to the base filled, head knocking "Stay a Customer", Kaze and 9th pump liquid ear candy that would get any true hip hop lover wet.

After truly despising the MTV money grown M.C's like 50 on heavy radio and T.V rotation, it truly keeps my faith in Hip Hop when finding diamonds in the rough like this. Who said Hip Hop is getting old.....

Short...and to the point...KAZE is a ill emcee and when combined with the best producer in the game ( 9th Wonder ), the result is almost pure bliss. Stellar production, and great overall hip-hop album.

Sleeper......... 4 Feb 2006

This album is really great. It has the deep- meaningful lyrics you have come to expect from Justus League and some dope beats from 9th Wonder. This guy "Kaze" is great on the mic. I never heard of this guy. Best believe I will be keeping an eye out for his next CD. This is just a fantastic CD to listen to when you get tired of the radio flavored emcees. the soulful production and lyrics make this a perfect Cd to purchase.
