Product Description

Product Description

Set in the heart of beautiful Norfolk, the fine city of Norwich is a fascinating blend of old and new, with a bustling commercial centre. Charming cobbled streets include the famous Elm Hill with its picturesque Tudor architecture and the popular Norwich Lanes with its vibrant mix of independent shops.

Standing proud the magnificent castle sits on its great mound housing superb collections of art and history. Add two beautiful cathedrals and a host of elegant churches contained within the ancient city walls, and you have vivid picture of Norwich's historic past.

The city offers a generous supply of restaurants, cafés and pubs with tastes and flavours for all to enjoy. Shoppers have the choice of two malls, a colourful marketplace and access to all the modern city amenities.

Beautiful parks and gardens provide peaceful recreation and delightful places to explore. The photographs in this book have been selected to provide a glimpse of much of the best that this exciting city has to offer.

Spirit of Norwich Spirit of Norwich is an excellent book containing over 70 photographs of Norwich taken by a very talented photographer, Daniel Tink, who has an excellent eye for producing pleasant compositions. There are many familiar scenes plus less well-known places which makes this a fascinating collection of photographs for both people who know Norwich and those who don't. I have recommended it to friends as presents for family and friends living away from Norwich who wished to be reminded of their beloved city and it also a good guide for people about to visit the city as well as residents. And, it comes at pocket money prices making it an excellent keepsake to take home from holiday.

When making the link above, I also discovered that Daniel Tink has another collection of photographs published - Spirit of Norwich Cathedral - which I shall certainly buy.

Brilliant little book 12 July 2010
Format:Hardcover
This little book is excellent value for money, ideal for a gift or as a memento of a visit to Norwich. The photos are excellent and capture Norwich in a refreshing way - it made me want to visit some of the places that I have known about for years but not seen recently. The captions to the pictures are short but informative and add to the enjoyment of the book. Stock up now for Christmas and birthday gifts or put it on your coffee table!
