excellent post-rock album

This is yet another post-rock album, but an excellent one. It's possible to hear bits of other post-rock bands in some places, or even older bands like Pink Floyd or Can. They take an existing form of music with its gimmicks (repetition, superposition of sounds, hypnotic drumming, etc.), and within this constraints they create an atmosphere, emotions, musical landscapes... That's what art is about. The music gets better after several listenings, which is generally a good sign.

A surprise. If I hear an interesting song on my favorite network Indie station, I'll buy the CD on spec, hoping it contains one or two other worthy songs. This one turned out to be one of the best CDs I've heard in the past year. Enough complexity and substance to be worthwhile yet accessible via well written melodies.
