The Kenyan Boys Choir signed a recording deal with Universal Music under unusual circumstances--they were in the transfer lounge at Heathrow Airport on their way back from Washington D.C where they had performed as part of Barack Obama inauguration celebrations. Hailing from Kenya, Barack Obama’s original homeland, the choir represent not only Obama’s historic election as US president, but also the optimism about the future of Africa, representing a new generation of African children with hope. The album Spirit Of Africa includes traditional songs from around Africa as well some contemporary classics.

This CD bought back so many good memories of my time in Kenya working alongside Kenyans. Excellent audio quality, good songs not at all sycophantic. This CD will get a lot of plays and augments my ageing cassette recordings. Could not be better. Tremendous value!

I thoroughly enjoyed this dvd, it took me back to the time I lived in East Africa, mostly it is in swahili just a couple of songs in english but I highly recommend it.

Obama was right
