I am a member of the Spinetinglers site and am constantly amazed at the quality of the stories that are published each month. The anthology is a 'Best of the Best' of that years stories and I feel they show a wide range of different types of horror story. Not everyone's taste is the same in a horror story and this anthology caters for everyone's individual taste. As for typo's, well there are typo's in some of the top authors novels. I myself didn't notice any, the stories were too engrossing.

Can't say I agree with the one star review, as there are a good few decent stories here. Not every single one is to every ones taste, but nothing in life is perfect. I'd check out the website that goes with this book as they're more fantastic stories to be had if you can stand reading them online- and for free!
And the spinetinglers anthology isn't a vanity publication, it's a best of stories submitted to the website, so there!
