Product Description

Debra's drink is spiked at a party, and she is abducted. In the race to find her, the police find plenty of suspects. There's her would-be boyfriend, and her sister's ex.: she has had a row with both of them. And, as her parents are prominent in the community, there are plenty of people with grudges against the family. Fear and distrust taint every relationship. When at last she is returned to her family, Debra cannot identify her abductor, and her well-wishers realise that they must find and expose the person before any of them can begin to recover from the trauma. Sandra Glover has written another gripping story of mystery and suspense that will keep her readers guessing until the very last page. She can write with enormous conviction and power about teenage life, weaving a story with such subtle shifts and sudden turnings that it is impossible to second guess.

From the Back Cover

The last thing clever, vivacious Debra Cardew expects at the GCSE celebration party is trouble. But everyone seems determined to burden her with their problems.
Pestered by her sister’s ex, her mother’s drunken colleague and old rival Amy Parker, Debra carelessly leaves her drink unattended.
This is the opportunity someone has been waiting for.
But who?
Who would want to spike Debra’s drink and for what sinister purpose?

Sandra Glover writes about teenage life with power and conviction, weaving a story with such subtle shifts and sudden turnings that it is impossible to second guess . . .
