This box-set contains all the episodes from the 1980s cartoon "Spiderman and His Amazing Friends". Like many others approaching middle-age, it was my Saturday morning favourite as a child. Watching it again really took me back to those times. I also couldn't get that catchy theme tune out of my head!

There are 24 episodes from all 3 seasons on 4 discs. Spiderman is aided by fellow super-heroes Ice-Man and Fire-Star. Most of the well-known villains (Green Goblin, Kingpin, Sandman, Mysterio, etc) feature throughout the series, and we even meet other good guys like Captain America, S.H.I.E.L.D. and the X-Men.

The animation looks a bit dated now especially when compared with the 1990s "Spiderman The Animated Series", which is yet to be fully released on DVD. However, Spiderman and His Amazing Friends was very enjoyable, least of all because things weren't made unnecessarily complicated as was done in the 1990s series with bizarre storylines involving Carnage, Madam Web and multiple Spidermen from different dimensions!

This series represents what Spiderman cartoons should be - simple to watch and fun. I recommend it highly.

I remember watching this when I was young. It has a memorable theme tune. My favourite episode is The X-Men Adventure.

You get two booklets (one with each of DVD case) and the two cases are stored inside a slip case. They still have the Liberation Entertainment logo on the boxes and cases.

This series is great. Like the title of this review suggests you, can't go wrong here, it's just a pleasure to watch. I enjoyed it back then & i enjoyed watching it now. The only reason i gave it 4 stars insead of 5 is because of the absence of special features.

I have to say though what happended to the Spiderman 80s animated series with Spidey on his own though? It's like it's almost not existent. You can bearly even find anything about the series itself on the net. It seems because of the Spider Friends series & the other 60s & 90s incarnations of Spiderman animated shows the 80s animated series seems to have been overlooked & forgotten over time & slipped into obscurity. The animated shows that Spidey appeared in during the 80s perfectly embodied the style of what a Spiderman cartoon should be. To not realease it to go along side this collection would be a crime.
