TERRIBLE DVD 14 Jun 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
The 1981 Spider-Man series is the greatest Spidey show ever made. I was really looking forward to this release but unfortunately this DVD is a complete botch job. As noted by other reviewers several episodes (particularly episode 4 which is unwatchable) suffer from a flickering contrast error that was created during the analogue to digital conversion process, and whoever was in charge decided they just could not be bothered to fix it.

DO NOT BUY unless you are a sap like me who has to own every Spidey DVD released.
SORT IT OUT CLEARVISION- THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

While it's great to have this title finally show up on DVD, the episodes themselves need a lot of work. We're all used to flecks and scratches on archive cartoons, but there's some serious colour and contrast issues going on here. Things get pretty bad during episode 4, the picture ranging from light to dark with great frequency, it's a shame as it's a problem that could have been resolved early on with some care.

Come on Clear Vision, you're better than this. While many Marvel fans will buy it anyway, please put a bit more effort in to these titles. Simply putting a warning at the front of the disc doesn't quite cover the issues this time.
