As a long time Spice and Wolf fan, like everybody else I was patiently waiting for an announcement of a third season after completing the second, an announcement that never came unfortunately, although there is still hope, we now have the manga which is now on the 4th Spice and Wolf light novel in regards to content and literally everything in this volume is new, the characters, the locations, the town, the story, everything.

This is quite literally a dream come true from a fans point of view, although we sadly do not have our Season 3, we now have it in book form.

Following the events of Season 2 of the anime, Holo and Lawrence find themselves in Tereo, a very small town in a snowy cold kind of environment, as they endeavour to learn more about Yoitsu, they became involved in a dispute between 2 towns. A dispute that will have greater implications for them both.

Presented in typical Spice and Wolf fashion, the art is beautiful, and of course Lawrence and Holo end up in a tavern(As usual) and make themselves at home there, a new character in Elsa is introduced too, who is well I'll leave that up to you the reader to find out.

This volume is absolutely amazing, the story is good and as said, the artwork is fantastic.

Spice and Wolf is back, follow from this volume onwards if you want a continuation to the end of Season 2 of the anime as said.

Visual trek through the first part of Book 4 21 April 2013
By Nishi - Published on
Format: Paperback
I was looking forward to reading through this issue of the manga since it covers the fourth book, which the anime never showed. I enjoyed looking at the art and since it looks just like the animation of the series it feels like you are watching an episode straight out of the show.

The manga covers the first part of the book and I presume issue 8 will cover the last part of book 4. It follows the story well and I didn't see anything that really changed from the book. The story covers Lawrence and Holo arriving in the village of Tereo to find out more information on Yoitsu. Like usual, not everything goes as planned and they have to figure out the cities problems. We also get a peek into what I feel is foreshadowing what may happen later on.

The art is great and since they have kept with the same look as the anime and the art from the novels it feels like it comes alive, like I said before. The characters have great facial animations and the scenery reminds me what I imaged when I read through the book. Only some partial nudity (Don't see anything crazy) in this issue, so I don't think it should have earned the Parental Advisory logo again.

If you enjoyed the anime and reading the books I recommend picking this up. The next issue is planned and coming out this summer, so at least it won't end with a cliffhanger. I liked reading through this story again and seeing the town and drawings they made up for the books they fin in Tereo. At least the anime can semi-live on with the manga series.

* Same animation style as the anime
* Part of the books that the anime didn't cover
* Fast paced

* Another issue that doesn't really need the Parental Advisory tag on it

Holo charms us again in a new volume 26 Jan. 2014

I can't stop reading this series. The manga is always fantastic, really well drawn and it takes its story from the original light novel series so how could you go wrong? I suggest if you're reading this though pick yourself up the novels too because they are fantastic!
It was pretty cool 29 Aug. 2013

Instead of it starting off with Kraft Lawrence and Holo traveling to the village of Tereo. They started the story off on a different character who is practically the protagonist of this story arc. What makes this story delightful is that this story was skipped in the anime. So reading this book with visual illustration gives it a satisfying sensation.
