4.0 out of 5 stars Great! 20 Jan 2014
Sphero 2.0 is absolutely amazing! I don't know how it compares to its predecessor Sphero (1.0). However I believe this is an excellent product with bright colours and the fast speed. It runs for quite a long time but you have to charge for a while (3-4hours) However when you leave it on its charger it soon charges and doesn't have to be fully charged to last you a long time. Over 25 apps are available on you Idevices that makes you do all different things with Sphero. EG. tilting, bumping and rolling etc.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great....for the first few minutes. 21 Feb 2014
This ball was fun for the first few minutes, but it quickly ran out of functionality. I quickly discovered all the things it could do, and I have some recommendations for people who want to buy it.
1. Alone or Multiplayer?
I've (so far) been playing alone with it. I know when friends come around, it will probably get more interesting... But if you don't have any friends coming around to play, then it does get tedious.
2. Tricks?Well....
I've tried rolling the ball into other people's rooms, but they'd have to be quite engrossed in their work not to hear. It does make quite a noise.
3.Driving.
The controls are a bit hard to get used to, but the ball does travel quite fast.
4. Charging.
It does have a really good charge. I also liked how it came with adapter plugs for other countries, which is perfect if you want to take your Sphero into other countries. French, English, American, and one more plug was what was included in the box.
5. Ramps.
The included ramps are good, but a little small. I often miss them if I'm driving at full speed.
6.Apps.
While I'm talking about the Sphero, I might as well mention the apps.
Chromo- Urmm... The idea is quite good but the controls are a bit hard.
Drive- This is good, I'd reccomend this to any new Sphero user.
Draw n' Drive- This is quite fun for the arty people.
All in all, it's a good toy, but if you're the type that is more used to things that are more immersive, then don't buy it. If you're getting this for your kids to play with and if they're under 13, then this may work.
3 1/2 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Have a Ball of fun with the Sphero ball 2.0 9 Nov 2013
Robotic toys will always cause a great excitement with all of us tech fans whether you are an adult or child. Robots are just plain cool and amazingly fun to have, and I'm sure we all think this not just our tech lovers.

Sphero ball 2.0 is today's new remote controlled car but being controlled by your smart phone and 10x better. It is an electronically enhanced ball the size of an apple which can whizz around your living room or even in the garden based upon the movement of your finger via a smart phone device.

The Sphero Ball 2.0 is the second generation of balls created by Orbotix as you could tell by its name. With the 2.0 Sphero balls they will come twice as fast as the previous models, being able to roll across your floor at the speed of seven feet per second also it will be much more visible and attractive to the eye as it is three times more brightly lit.

The Sphero ball 2.0 has had an interesting upgrade to its user interface which allows the user to level up as they get more control over the ball, this then gives you more opportunities to have more fun with the ball as it can allow you to gain more speed. The interesting part to it is that it is now made as a game so that you will continuously have fun with it giving you more to do with the ball, rather than just using it to mess around. Now there will be different levels and challenges for you to pass and unlock more features to the ball such as access to more LED colours. The main app for the ball is called Sphero which can be downloaded from the Apple app store or Play store and is completely FREE! With this app you will have a small D-Pad where you will control the movement of the ball and a few other buttons allowing you to activate other features.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pocket pet, without the mess. 31 July 2014

I really like this ball, which I've named, SAPHIRA, (Well you've got to name it, lol). It's very fun to play with as you level up within the app, this in turn allows you to upgrade the ball itself, (colours, speed, core reactor, boost). Also you gain cores which you can spend on tricks. You also get a feature called supply drop, here you can find additional cores and tricks....Now the downside. You do need to have plenty of room to make the most out of the ball, so out on the street, in a car park or park with concrete. To do this you need a nubby cover or hexnub cover which is half the price, this protects the ball and allows for traction. Personal problem, I've got a samsung galaxy s5, and the app can be unstable at times, with disconnections and the app closing itself. Also I've leveled up to 17, and for some reason my experience points won't go up any more. This is a bug within the app itself, It's probably better on the iphone, (it pains me to say that, lol). Well enough said enjoy your pocket pet.

5.0 out of 5 stars This toy is so much fun 22 Nov 2013

When I presented this as a gift to the birthday boy everyone stared at it and made comments like "well, it's different" but once turned on Sphero was the toy of the day with everyone wanting a go, it is very responsive, easy to use and smooth to drive (we were using an android tablet) - even a gran had a turn and enjoyed it. Love how it lights up as well. Literally hours of fun for everyone.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's fun and it's interesting for the first few days.
It's fun and it's interesting for the first few days. It's not as fast as you might think it is and really there isn't much to do after the initial excitement period.
