This is one of those quintessential shoes that has always been classically mature and fashionable, that seems to have exploded in modern fashion in recent years, which I'm more than pleased about.
The most recent pair I owned was one bought last year, an all-suede brown, perhaps the best looking one I've seen, which has held itself together beautifully despite all the abuses of the city, and still looks great now.
A word of warning, this particular shoe is single-seam at the heel (I have no idea if they all are) which means an uneven, concentrated pressure when you're walking. As such I found the the back of my heel (and my socks) UTTERLY DESTROYED after its first wear, so try it out at home first and if there is some discomfort, put something on to cushion your heel. Still, plentiful teething stage scars are a given among any shoe enthusiast too eager to actually put a damn plaster on their heel. Nevertheless it did wear in and has actually become my most comfortable outdoor shoe.
All rambling aside, don't think twice if you're looking for an ultimate 'lazy summer' shoe.
