Product Description

Product Description

Due to popular demand, this extraordinary book project by Damien Hirst is now available in a reduced format. This dynamic and provocative collection of Hirst's ideas and obsessions is a powerful combination of text and visual elements. Each piece is set against a visual narrative of drawings, words, photography, typography, pop-ups, and other special effects that make this book like no other. An essay by cult novelist Gordon Burn looks at Hirst's work and the breadth of its impact. Designed by Jonathan Barnbrook, this is a landmark publication that has redefined the fine art monograph.

Book as work of art. 11 May 1999

Format:Hardcover
Madness. Reduced a friend of mine to utter silence for 90 minutes.

Great horror and intense beauty.

The title itself is extraordinary in its expression of the late 90's paradox of wanting to engage with life but somehow feeling disassociated from it. er, least that's what i think ;-)

I got this book for Christmas so luckily I did not have to pay for it, although I would have bought it anyway. You can tell just by looking at it where most of the money you spend goes, Its well bound with various pull-outs, pop-ups ,spin-rounds and a whole heap of other features. This book is a must for any Damian Hirst fan or just anyone who loves art.

I read that someone said "He should have given away a coffee table with each copy." but belive me if you buy this book you wont need a coffee table
