UPDATE - you'll notice that all of the other reviews except one are from just AFTER I left this review on June 4th 2011. They are all fake reviews saying wonderful things about this program that won't install.
If you click to look at the other reviews any of these people have written, you'll see this is the ONLY product the person has reviewed. In addition, the review on June 6th was from Tannia Triana - which is the name that showed up on Caller ID when the support guy called me back (I have logs of all the calls I receive).
You'll notice they did the exact same blatant thing on the other Speedy Organizer available on Amazon (you have to search for it).
I would seriously suggest saving the pain of buying this software. The dishonest reviews are just an example of what will likely happen if you give them remote access to your PC.
----------------------------------------
These people stole $100 from me.
The software has errors installing, and won't run.
Their web site has NO technical information on it at all, even in their "support" area. Not a single clue. Check it out yourself. They have a "forum" that has three meaningless messages in it.
It seems to try to install Microsoft SQL 2005 Express Edition, which is horrible (but free) database software from Microsoft that will cause incredible problems that essentially can't be fixed without doing a fresh install of Windows (just look for the thousands of problems mentioned on google).
If you've installed other software written by incompetent programmers, you may have had Microsoft SQL 2005 Express installed before, with failed installs or uninstalls. You may also already have the 2008 Express version.
The software has a big note in the disk box that says: "DO NOT CALL the vendor you purchased the software from as they can not help you." In other words, they don't want you to return this garbage.
They did call me back quickly when I sent an email, but the "support" person told me the only way the software can be installed is if I give him remote access to my computer. He had a foreign accent. He could have been in any country, and "trusting him" could be the last thing I do with this computer.
He said that is the only way to get it installed. I've bought a lot of software, and have never heard of any other company with the guts to tell that to their customers.
This is truly insanity. The odds of very bad things happening to my computer if I let this unknown "support" person have remote control is nearly 100%. The odds of his stealing personal information on my PC is nearly 100%.
It's entirely possible that I'd lose everything, and have to restore from my last backup. If you don't have a backup of all the data and programs on your PC, DON'T even think about letting someone get into your computer remotely.
The real solution is not to buy this "software" in the first place.
I'm out $100 because I just got around to installing the Fujitsu scanner and this software I bought last year. Luckily the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 I bought came with software that looks like it's usable, including neat card scanning software.
If you are trying to get organized, buying this software could be the final nail in the coffin of your ever getting organized - when your PC becomes a paperweight. Sure ruined my weekend.
