The book is well laid out. it goes through a few exercises for you to try, but you can then further practise with other material. I found it helpful in changing a few restraining habits and then putting them into practice. the best way to judge it is to read a passage and then try to recall as much as you can. The more you do the better you get. overall it was good enough to recommend.

This book is fantastic. I've struggled with reading since I was at primary school and it all finally came to a head when I got about 3 months in to my Masters course - the amount of reading got too much and I crashed and burned. I was seeking out help on how to read effectively and came across this book. I hated reading but was desperate to learn how to read, so made myself start the book. To my pleasant surprise the content was very easy to read, understand and put into practice. The 5 step strategy inside the book has given me a system which has allowed me to read anything with relative ease. I'm now coming to the end of my MSc and am very thankful I came across this book - the Tony Buzan stuff is just too lengthy and in depth for me, although I'm sure I could read it now if I needed to.
