It isn't advertized as Mac-compatible, but it works perfectly on OS X (10.6 at least) without any extra drivers.
The only annoyance is that for some reason there's a bright red LED on the top that lights up and flashes when the device is playing audio. This is really distracting, and reduces the rating from 5 to 4 stars.

using a server as a PC I have limited options to update as most of the slots are pci-e 8x and there are very few cards out there unless you want to go the expensive route of slot adapters so this usb sound card solved a problem, works fine and a good quality production of sound. very happy

Amazon Verified Purchase
Having wrecked both audio outputs on my computer, I plugged this device into a USB port and a message appeared saying not enough bandwidth available (because too much hardware was already in use, including a modem). My operating system is XP and the only remedy I've found so far is to start the computer without the modem connected, and then while a media player is operating, connect the modem. This procedure re-allocates the bandwidth. Not convenient but not the fault of the sound card - which works fine. Sound quality is less impressive than the internal sound card but good enough.

Audio card
This audio card does the job, and it's a great price, but it's very flimsy. The plastic casing can easily come loose. I just hold it together with tape now!

A cheap solution
Poor documentation but otherwise a good purchase. Straightforward plug 'n play on a XP Pro SP3 system. Took about a minute to set itself up and then working fine.

Exactly right for the job.
