Product Description

For fans of Stephen King, Joe Hill, and James Herbert. A paranormal conference at the most haunted hotel in the Blue Ridge Mountains goes haywire when ghost hunters accidentally stir up demons.

SPEED DATING WITH THE DEAD

When Digger Wilson brings his paranormal team Spirit Seekers International to the White Horse Inn, he is skeptical that his dead wife will keep her half of the bargain. He doesn’t believe in ghosts, and just before she died, she promised to meet him there.

But when one of the conference guests channels a mysterious presence and an Ouija board spells out a pet phrase known only to Digger and his wife, his convictions are challenged.

And when guests start to disappear, Digger and his daughter Kendra must face the circle of demons that view the hotel as their personal playground. Because soon the inn will be closing for good, angels can’t be trusted, and demons don’t like to play alone . . .

I started with Creative Spirit for under £1 and it was amazing. On the strength of this book I bought several others with birthday money. I read this one 2nd. Disappointing in comparising to Creative Spirit. I am now reading The Skull Ring which (half way though) is gripping and extremely exciting. I'd hate anyone to read this Speed Dating story first and out of these 3 it is the less satisfactory by a long way. It is confused and the characterisation isn't the same standard either. READ SCOTT NICHOLSON but don't see this as his best please.

Speed Dating the Dead 29 April 2012

When the Digger goes back to his honeymoon sweet to fulfill a promise to his now dead wife, he isn't expecting to actually make contact. Despite his career as a ghost hunter he does not believe in the paranormal. He's in for a rude awakening as he and his tour group encounter some of the nastiest of the nasties.

I enjoyed the basic plot line and thought the characters were believable and well developed. My only criticism is that it seemed to be somewhat repetitive. It felt like the same thing kept happening, just to different characters. I kept finding myself hoping that this time would be the climax only to have the story shift to a different character where they went through much the same battle. Overall a good read, but not as good as some of Mr Nicholson's other works.
