Speed Cleaning,

This review is from: Speed Cleaning: A Spotless House in Just 15 Minutes a Day (Paperback)
A good little book. It contains a number of recipes for making your own cleaning liquids, thus saving money too! The book is not aimed at the UK market though, so some items would be difficult to obtain. I do wish this was made clear by book sellers.

I really love this book, it gives solutions to a lot of problems in and around the house. The solutions are simple and easy to use. From room to room, decluttering and cleaning the 'right' way. Using your own cleaning liquids, essential oils and the right strategy to tackle every house-cleaing problem.
Stains on your grandmothers carpet, bed-bugs, yellowed linnen: the solution is in here !

A spotless house in just 15 minutes a day?,

This review is from: Speed Cleaning: A Spotless House in Just 15 Minutes a Day (Paperback)
That's what it says on the cover. But what the authors say inside (see Page 2) is quite different. They only claim that you will be able to clean a ROOM in 15 minutes using their method. And on Page 4 they helpfully point out that you will need an extra 10-15 minutes PER DAY for each additional person living in the house. Once you've added all that up for a typical house and family, the method doesn't sound so fast after all. Also worth mentioning is the fact that the authors were writing for the Australian market and a number of their tips seem fairly irrelevant in a northern European context. Or have you ever had problems with insects in your oven? Needed to spray the surrounds of the dishwasher with insecticide to keep out cockroaches? Me neither. Some of the tips are slightly bizarre - for instance, that you can use dried snake poo to keep mice away... no, I am not joking, this is on Page 134. There are a lot of tips on making your own cleaning products and very detailed instructions on how to clean different surfaces which could be useful, I suppose, which is why I gave the book 3 stars.
