The Spectra 3 dual expression pump
Spectra 3 Electric Breast Pump and accessories helped me persevere with my little girl to breastfeed from me directly, keep my milk flowing and also provided relief from breast engorgement.
Would recommend to anyone having difficulty breast feeding but wanting their child to have their milk. I personally found it difficult in the first few weeks both emotionally and physically recovering from childbirth with a second degree tear, it's not very comfortable to keep trying different breast feeding positions when you feel physically horrible! After 8 weeks of a few tears of frustration and feelings of being a failure because I couldn't feed my baby, I am now successfully breast feeding directly with the help of a medela nipple shield
Medela 20 mm Contact Nipple Shields with Case (Medium), but I would have given up without this equipment.
I bought this item as a second set to make my life a little easier so I wasn't washing and sterilising my expressing equipment every three hours! Also handy to have clean second set if you are out for the day. I did have a Tommee Tippee electric expressing pump but returned it, it was useless compared to the spectra. Tommee Tippee closer to nature bottles
Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Easi-vent 260ml BPA-free Feeding Bottles (3-Pack)on the other hand are good.
I now combine breastfeeding and bottle feeding and store my milk in the freezer for when I return to work or want to have an alcoholic drink. My husband and family can also share in the feeding if I want a break or popping out for the day.
There is a lot of pressure out there to breastfeed, but the best advice is feed your baby how it works for you best and not let other people pressure and force their opinions on you!
Giving a baby a bottle is not going to ruin your chances of breastfeeding successfully, as a few midwives tried to make me believe.
