Product Description

The Spectra 3 is designed for mothers who would like a quality mains electric breast pump at an affordable price. Unlike many others on the market this pump is extremely quiet allowing use without disturbing your baby. The rhythmic pumping action emulates that of the feeding baby. An optional breast cup can be added for dual expression, if required. It has fully adjustable suction power. There is a two year warranty (excluding the breast shield) and is suitable for home use. The spectra attaches to most standard sized bottles (eg Avent) and is compatible with Medela accessories.

Excellent 30 Aug 2009
We bought this after using a Medela Harmony handheld pump, which fell apart (rubber valves got torn) after only 4 weeks. If you need to express constantly like we did- our little one just wouldn't suckle directly- then you need a 'hospital-grade' pump, and this is the one to buy.

The handheld ones may be good for casual users, but for regular users the moving parts will soon wear out, valves tear and rubber bits fray; and as we found out, replacement parts are a nightmare to obtain. There are other 'hospital grade' pumps out there, but they're all much more expensive than this one- mainly because of all the bell and whistles which you're not likely to need anyway.

We used this regularly, twice a day, for 7 months without a single complaint. It's in the loft now, awaiting the next li'l 'un. Top marks for price, top marks for function, this is the pump for the regular user.

Excellent Gadget 12 Dec 2009
Lovely Pump. looks like it means business like a hospital pump. that is why i bought it.
silent, very effcient, milk flows beautifully. Painless,
the dial to increase the strength is not graduated and did not realise i was not using the full power till second day, with full power it does a great job, the suction is well seen.

Dual pumping is possible but holding onto both would be tricky; breasts become a bit sore as expected with a baby sucking or any pump;

DEFINITELY as good as the hospital pump which we have tried.

Have not tried any other electric pump so cant comment any comparisons.

Dont waste money on manual pumps, tried philips avent, hopeless, just put the extra money and go for this.

I bought this after struggling with a hand held and a cheaper version sold by Boots. This was wonderful- quiet operation, painless (can adjust it so starts slow and increae) it has a nice ryththmical action is extremely efficient and just more natural feeling which is important I think as no one wants to feel like a dairy animal.

I purchased this breast pump for my daughter. I chose it because it appeared to have a very robust motor and in reviews it was described as being like ones available in hospitals. Read more

Fantastic pump
What can I say, what a fantastic pump. I used a Medea symphony pump in hospital and this one is just as good for a fraction of the price. Read more

Great value for little price.
This pump is great. Easy to use. Decent suction and the ability to double pump. I've just purchased an extra set to do just this. Read more

poor quality
Really poor quality item. Stopped working after just one use. Even the bottles and cup are much poorer quality than other brands available in the UK. Read more

Very well priced and performs excellently!
My wife was previously using the Philips Avent electric pump which in comparison was expensive and reasonably complex to use. It also didn't appear to be expressing much milk. Read more
