Looked at a lot of covers for my shiny new Macbook pro. I bought a Larobe sleeve which is great to protect once in my bag, but I wanted something to protect the aluminium unibody from scratch, once I had got it out.
Does the job perfectly and fits so well it is difficult to tell it wasn't part of the factory design. Soft matt finish, nice to the touch, makes you worry a lot less from casual knocks and bumps as you set it up.
Seems expensive for 2 pieces of plastic, but very good quality, and does the job.
My only issue is the Amazon price which is bizarrely £10 more than in the Apple store itself.( and they fitted it in store for me - sorry Amazon)
As a huge fan of Amazon, disappointed with them on this occasion -Come on Amazon, get it down!

A truly excellent case for your Macbook - I had previously purchased a cheaper hard case which was brittle and didn't feel like it protected my Macbook. However the Speck case feels great to touch, feels sturdy, and has enough bounce in it for you to not worry about knocks and bumps so much. Just wish it was slightly cheaper, but £35 for protecting a £1000 laptop isn't so bad I guess, and the Black looks great!

Yes a bit more expensive than other offerings on Amazon, however this fits my new late 2011 Macbook pro perfectly and gives the needed protection an expensive machine requires. I also have a carry case and this Speck product just provides that wee bit of extra protection when using the laptop around my house! Worth the extra few quid, must add that it really looks the part as well and one would nearly think the Macbook Pro is black in colour!!
