This is a truly wonderful item if you want to take homemade soup to work for lunch. I place cold soup in the product and microwave at work, but the item is supposed to keep hot soup hot for a while. It can also be used for any other foodstuff, such as a stirfry perhaps. The spoon is a bit of a waste of time, but that's OK for me as I just use a standard soup spoon instead.

There is a problem at work with people who use bowls but don't wash them up afterwards, so I decided I needed my own bowl with a lid so I could heat my soup at lunchtime, rinse the bowl after eating the soup and then wash it properly at home. I didn't want to take a glass one in case it broke or the usual clear plastic ones because they stain easily.

I was a little bit worried when I opened this for the first time because it looked a bit small inside, but after filling it from a measuring jug I found it holds 500ml to just below where the lid goes; most tinned soups are 400ml, so this bowl leaves about half an inch between the soup and the lid.

I find that if I put the soup in and then place the lid on top without screwing it down, this allows the steam to escape and also stops the soup from going all over the inside of the microwave. The inside of the bowl is red and as most of the soups I use are a similar colour I don't notice much staining. The handle is very useful and is easier than trying to take a hot bowl out of the microwave and getting soup on the teatowel. The folded plastic spoon in the lid is useful for if you forget to take a metal spoon, but it is no use for stirring.

Overall an excellent product and one that gets used every day without any problems.

Update (May 2012): I would also recommend one of these as an excellent alternative if you are going to eat the soup straight away and do not need to keep it warm.

Stay Fit Soup To Go 21 Nov 2009
This dinky container is very practical. I was worried that it might leak but it doesn't.
I use it mainly for my porridge, which I make in the morning and it stays warm for me in this container for about 2-3 hours.

It is far too large to hold in a hand and so the big handle on the side comes in very handy! It also comes with a plastic spoon, which folds away into the lid.

For those who care about the look of the product: it is also a nice looking cup and sure will attract comments from your colleagues! :-)

All in all a great product and for a good value too!

Not what I had in mind
Thought it would be a good buy for transporting my soups to work but i haven't used it since it arrived - it's way too bulky, it's just as easy to use a mini flask.

larger and less impressed on receipt
Clever idea, though food only stays 'warm' for a couple of hours and it is quite a large 'cup', more like a small mixing bowl with a lid so not practical to pack and carry to work.

Great product.
A few reviewers appear to have bought this container thinking it's a vacuum flask. It's not, and it doesn't claim to be anywhere in the name or description. Read more
