I was looking for a small chilled container for my kids lunch bags, so that I could chop up fruit salad for a change from a boring, old apple. It just about keeps things nicely chilled till lunchtime, and is the right size for them. The problem was getting the lid off. Sometimes, it would come off easily, but more often than not, it was stuck. More than once, the contents ended up over their desk, as they struggled to open it. My children are 8 and 11 years. As an adult, I had great difficulty too, but can usually manage it.
I checked the internet for something similar, with maybe screw top lid, or tab fasteners, but could find nothing. If anyone else has found something that works, please let me know. I can't believe there is nothing on the market, when so many adults and kids take packed lunches every day. I mainly use these dishes in the school holidays, and place them inside my cool bag, and take with me for picnics. It is certainly delicious on a hot day to take out a chilled fruit salad of kiwi, melon, apple and black grapes. It always inspires lunch box envy! would have given 5 stars if kids could have got the lids off by themselves.
