We bought this lamp for our 3 year old. It is very safe for him and he loved being in control of the bedtime story light himself. The bulb is low power, so it isn't very bright, but this is enough to read from and keeps the lighting dim for sleeping with the lamp on. Definitely would recommend.

Would have given five stars but the bulb came out of its socket when the lamp was knocked over (unsurprising with a 3 year old in charge). To get to the bulb you need to unscrew the shade, then unscrew the bulb casing, so whilst this construction is great for a child's safety I think the bulb came out of its socket a little too easily and would have been better if the socket connection was a firmer design.

If you have a Cars fan and need a lamp for their bedroom then this is the one to get. Does the job, seems safe to use and my little boy is pleased with it. What more can I say.
