There are 2 very small screws holding the blades to the plastic handle and these broke the first time I used them. All I was cutting was grass and some young green shoots. Pretty rubbish. My old set of shears lasted years and didn't cost that much more.

I bought this believing that as it was Spear & Jackson (with a 10 year guarantee) it would last. It became unuseable after about 30 minutes due to the fact that the blades kept sticking together after cutting (instead of re-opening as you would expect). I returned them and unsurprisingly will look for another brand when re-ordering.

This item is rubbish , looked fine when i opened the parcel but when i took it out to use it it just fell apart and when i looked at it there was a screw missing that held the blades together so when i tried to cut with it the whole thing just fell apart. I tried to fix it by useing a spare screw i had ( which was really hard ) it just didnt cut very well so i had to return it, got my refund very quickly and am pleased with the out come.

Poor quality hand shears
First pair broke after one use as screws came undone. Under guarantee. Replacement pair lasted a little longer but worked loose after a cople of months. Read more

really, don't bother
awful from the start with blades sticking and screws coming loose. then fell apart just outside of returns period- not suprisingly, it no longer has a ten year warranty. Read more
