5.0 out of 5 stars The serie is a bit dear but good 1 Jan 2004
Well, if you have much time, and you will definitely to learn Gaelic, the SOL is what you are searching for.
Everything, you are told, can be used on itself ( books, casettes, videotapes); don't trust it and use all together.
It's exellent to provide you with a passive knowledge of Gaelic; in order to build up a working knowledge, to become a fluent speaker, fancy to attend a course at Sabhal Mor Ostaig, or something of the kind.
The book is full of humour, and that is an advantage, if you are trying to learn something.
Warning: the whole serie costs 250 pounds, more or less.

Great series but anything over about 12 is attempted theft. I don't know why Amazon and eBay don't sort these sods out

5.0 out of 5 stars Learn Idiomatic Gaelic 13 Aug 2004
By cile - Published on
The language you learn is Scottish Gaelic.

There are four series published in five separate books with at least two tapes for each series . Each chapter is arranged thematically so the learner can make simple conversation from an early stage. The language is modern and idioms are taught immediately, unlike a lot of grammar-oriented books. However, here are some grammatical structures and exercises given. The course would be strengthened with more exercises and activities to reinforce the concepts taught .
